The Costa da Morte is a natural paradise in the northwest of Spain, stretching along more than 200 km of coastline where you'll discover some of Galicia's most spectacular natural coastal landscapes.
Travelling through A Costa da Morte East:
To explore the easternmost stretch of Costa da Morte, from the ancient whaling village of Caión to Laxe, we suggest starting the journey by taking the road connecting Carballo to Baldaio to first explore Caión. This route allows you to discover the beauty of this area along the Galician coast in all its splendor.

After Caión, make your way to the impressive Baldaio lagoon, the easternmost point of the protected natural area of Razo-Baldaio (Carballo), often hailed as the jewel of A Costa da Morte
Espacio natural de Razo-Baldaio
Continue exploring the spectacular natural area of Razo-Baldaio, home to one of Galicia's most beautiful and extensive beaches, spanning almost 6 km from Baldaio in the east to Razo in the west. This paradise offers wild beaches, dunes, marshes, and a saltwater lagoon nestled among the dunes, forming an immense natural pool that captivates both children and adults alike.

To behold the beauty of this natural space in its entirety, follow the coastal road from Baldaio to Razo, a gem known to very few!
Discover the secret of the Baldaio Shoals, where a legendary submerged city, Galilea, hides in the mysterious rocky depths of the Shoals, visible from any point on Razo-Baldaio beach. Legend has it that on clear days with low tide in crystal-clear waters, you might catch a glimpse of the main staircase of Galilea's grand house, illuminated by sunlight, and hear the bells of this lost city.
Prepare to be awed by a paradise where stormy days awaken the ocean's fury, unleashing the formation of massive waves far out as they crash against the Shoals.
Razo, at the western end of the beach, has evolved from a historical Eden, nestled at the foot of a Celtic temple and facing a submerged city, to a natural surfing paradise in Europe! What more could one ask for?

From Razo, continue westward to explore one of the main fishing villages of Costa da Morte, Malpica de Bergantiños. Follow the road linking Razo to Buño, which will take you through a splendid natural balcony, Monte Neme, a magical mountain for the Celts. At the mountain's peak, there once existed a stone circle, known as 'Eira das Meigas,' and legend has it that during the nights of San Juan, coinciding with the summer solstice, the local witches (meigas) would gather there.
As you begin the descent from the mountain, you'll reach the village of Aviño, where you'll discover a beautiful wild cove, As Torradas, surrounded by charming trails immersed in the untamed nature of the 'Route of the Pines by the Sea' cycling and hiking trail.

Once you've regained your strength, it's time to continue discovering more hidden corners of Costa da Morte. Head towards Ponteceso, and this time, we suggest taking a detour towards Cabo San Adrián to enjoy the spectacular view of the Sisargas Islands. Nearby, explore the beautiful beaches of Beo and Barizo—they're stunning!
Next, make your way to the Punta Nariga Lighthouse, one of the most imposing lighthouses in Costa da Morte. Marvel at its views in this breathtaking natural setting.

Return to the road from Malpica to Ponteceso that you temporarily left to visit the Punta Nariga Lighthouse. Continue towards Ponteceso, but before that, take a slight detour to Corme to visit O Roncudo, known for producing some of the world's best barnacles from these rocks.
On the way, you'll also get a glimpse of the beautiful Balarés beach. And if you haven't had lunch yet you will love to do it in:
