Continue your route through the spectacular
Razo–Baldaio nature reserve, home to
one of the most beautiful and expansive beaches in Galicia: nearly
6 km of uninterrupted shoreline stretching from
Baldaio in the east
to
Razo at its western end. This
coastal paradise brings together
wild beaches, dunes, marshlands and a saltwater lagoon that, sheltered between the dunes, becomes a vast
natural pool loved by both
children and
adults.

To fully appreciate the beauty of this natural area, follow the coastal road from Baldaio to Razo and discover a stretch of coastline few people know, where nature reveals itself in all its splendor.
In the Bajos de Baldaio lies the legendary sunken city of Galilea. Legend has it that on clear days and at low tide, you can see the staircase of its main house bathed in sunlight from anywhere on the beach, and hear the bells of this lost city.
Razo
Razo combines heritage, nature, and adventure. Located at the foot of Monte Neme, next to a Celtic temple and facing the sunken city of Galilea, this legendary Eden has become one of Europe’s top natural surfing paradises. When storms arise, the waves break over the reefs, forming spectacular columns of water out at sea.
It’s the perfect place to enjoy the luxury of open space and recharge your energy with long walks, surfing, or simply letting the sea guide your gaze. Its wide-open landscapes and the power of the ocean invite you to disconnect and reconnect with nature.
After a day exploring its beaches and waves, you can grab a drink or enjoy the local cuisine at the restaurants in Razo, soaking up the bohemian, relaxed atmosphere that encourages you to savor every moment.
This is the closest beach to our vacation homes: about a 12-minute drive from
A Casa da Chavella, and from
Razo Beach House and
Mirador das Areas, located
right here, where you can enjoy the
Atlantic coast your way. Additionally,
most stops along the route are less than

return home quickly after each getaway.

From Razo, continue westward to explore one of the main fishing villages of Costa da Morte, Malpica de Bergantiños. Follow the road linking Razo to Buño, which will take you through a splendid natural balcony, Monte Neme, a magical mountain for the Celts. At the mountain's peak, there once existed a stone circle, known as 'Eira das Meigas,' and legend has it that during the of San Juan nights, coinciding with the summer solstice, the local witches (meigas) would gather there.
As you begin the descent from the mountain, you'll reach the village of Aviño, where you'll discover a beautiful wild cove, As Torradas, surrounded by charming trails immersed in the untamed nature of the 'Route of the Pines by the Sea' cycling and hiking trail.

Once you’ve regained your energy, it’s time to continue discovering more hidden corners of A Costa da Morte. Continue your journey towards Ponteceso, and this time, we suggest taking a detour to Cabo San Adrián to enjoy the spectacular view of the Sisargas Islands. Nearby, don’t miss the beautiful beaches of Beo and Barizo!
Afterwards, head to the Punta Nariga Lighthouse, one of the most impressive lighthouses on A Costa da Morte, and be amazed by its views in a stunning natural setting.

Return to the road from Malpica to Ponteceso that you temporarily left to visit the Punta Nariga Lighthouse. Continue towards Ponteceso, but before that, take a slight detour to Corme to visit O Roncudo, known for producing some of the world's best barnacles from these rocks.
On the way, you'll also get a glimpse of the beautiful Balarés beach. And if you haven't had lunch yet you'll love stopping here.
